All Saints Day

Cate's Godmother treated us to Carrie Underwood tickets. It was Cate's first concert. Carrie was incredible! Cate's favorite part of the show was when Carrie rode in a truck above the crowd. Thanks Aunt Mary for a fabulous night!!!!

Happy Birthday Becket!

We celebrated Becket's 3rd birthday this weekend. There were 3 other families that joined us. All together there were 18 kids!!!! It was such a fun time. The next day the grandparents came to visit and Mimi gave Becket a haircut.

 

Girl Scout Field Trip

Cate's main concern with homeschooling was whether or not I would continue as her Girl Scout leader. With that being said, the co-leader and I decided we would make this the year of mostly field trips. We took our first field trip this week to The Linnaeus Teaching Garden. The girls especially loved sampling the stevia herb. They also learned that the garden center is named after Carl Linneaus-an 18th century Swedish naturalist who developed the system of plant identification. There is a beautiful statue created by Tulsa sculptor Rosalind Cook at the garden center.

Our first week of homeschool

We decided to homeschool this year. It started out well, but oh my, I'm going to be busy!!! The older kids were cooperative and seem to enjoy spending more time with their younger siblings. We had a great time making art. Do you remember thumbprint art when you were a kid?

Here are a few pics from the week. It doesn't appear that much schoolwork was completed. I'll be sure to post more pics next week so we don't get turned in to the school police!

Trout Lodge

We took the kids to Trout Lodge in Missouri for our summer vacation. It was good ole fashioned family fun.  The kids had their choice of many different activities. Horseback riding, archery, rope swing, miniature golf and fishing to name just a few.

Cate and Rusty had a great time on the trail.

We couldn't keep Colin and Gunnar away from the miniature golf course.

 The kids had a blast fishing with daddy!

The vacation might have been a little too scheduled for daddy, but we had a fabulous time!

Summertime Fun!!

My sister Lisa came to visit and we had so much fun. Our good friend Trip took us to his place at Lake Eufaula. Spending time on the boat, fishing, wakeboarding, roasting smores.......it was a perfect day!!!!
